Privacy Policy

Guru Chants is a devotional audio app for listening to chants, mantras, stotrams, aartis, and sacred frequencies with tactile playback controls, haptics, and background audio playback.

Information We Collect

Guru Chants does not require an account and does not collect personal information such as your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise GPS location, or payment information. The app and third-party advertising or analytics services may process your IP address, advertising ID, device/app information, approximate location, app activity, and diagnostic information as described below.

When you use the app, Guru Chants may collect or process limited app data:

Location

Guru Chants does not request GPS permission and does not collect or share precise physical location. Advertising and analytics services may infer approximate location or region from your IP address to operate, measure, personalize where permitted, and comply with advertising and analytics services.

Advertising and Third-Party Services

Guru Chants uses Appodeal to serve and mediate ads, including through advertising partners such as Google AdMob. Appodeal and its partners may collect or process information such as IP address, advertising ID, device identifiers, device/app information, approximate location, ad impressions, ad clicks, and related diagnostics to deliver ads, measure performance, prevent fraud, limit ad frequency, support attribution, and comply with legal requirements.

Appodeal processes data according to its own privacy policy: https://www.appodeal.com/privacy-policy. Google services, including AdMob and Firebase, may also process data according to Google's privacy practices.

Consent and Privacy Choices

Where required, Guru Chants may show a consent message or privacy choices form for advertising and related data processing. You can use the in-app Privacy Settings option to manage consent choices where available. Availability and wording of consent controls may depend on your region, device settings, Google services, Appodeal, AdMob, and applicable law.

You can also reset or delete your device advertising ID using Android privacy settings where available.

Analytics

Guru Chants uses Firebase Analytics, a Google service, to understand app activity and improve the experience. Firebase Analytics may receive app interaction events such as screen views, library browsing, track selections, playback actions, share usage, profile actions, external link opens, app version, device/app information, approximate region, and diagnostic signals. We do not use Firebase Analytics to create user accounts or identify you by name, email address, phone number, or precise GPS location.

Firebase Analytics data is used to measure app engagement, understand which features are working, diagnose issues, and improve Guru Chants. Google may process this data according to its own privacy and security practices.

Audio and App Content

Guru Chants includes devotional audio and visual assets inside the app package. The app supports background audio playback so you can continue listening when the app is in the background or the screen is locked. Background playback uses Android media controls and an ongoing playback notification.

The app may include links to Guru Chants pages or third-party platforms such as Spotify, YouTube Music, YouTube, Google Play, or the Guru Chants website. If you open those links, your use of those services is governed by their own privacy policies.

Permissions

Guru Chants may request permissions needed for app functionality, such as notifications for playback controls, vibration for haptic feedback, internet access for external links, network access for ads and analytics, advertising ID access for advertising and measurement where available, and foreground service access for background audio playback. The app does not request precise location permission, camera, microphone, contacts, or storage permissions.

Children

Guru Chants is intended for users aged 18 and over. It is not directed to children.

Health and Wellness

Guru Chants may include relaxation, meditation, devotional, or frequency-based listening experiences. The app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or clinical decision support.

Data Sharing

Guru Chants does not sell personal data. The app may share app activity and diagnostic analytics with Firebase/Google, and advertising-related data with Appodeal, AdMob, and advertising partners for ad delivery, ad measurement, fraud prevention, frequency capping, attribution, personalization where permitted, and compliance.

Data Retention

Guru Chants does not operate user accounts and does not maintain a server-side user profile database for the app.

Preferences stored by the app, such as favorites, playback settings, haptic settings, and similar app preferences, are stored locally on your device. They remain on your device until you delete them, clear the app storage, uninstall the app, or replace/reset your device.

Firebase Analytics data is retained according to Firebase and Google Analytics retention settings configured for the Firebase project. Advertising data processed by Appodeal, AdMob, and other ad partners is retained according to those providers' policies and settings.

If you contact us by email for support, we may retain that email conversation for as long as needed to respond to your request, keep reasonable business records, comply with legal obligations, and resolve disputes. We delete support emails when they are no longer needed for those purposes.

Data Deletion

You can delete locally stored Guru Chants app data at any time by using your device settings to clear the app's storage/data, or by uninstalling the app. On most Android devices this is available under Settings > Apps > Guru Chants > Storage > Clear storage or Clear data. This removes locally stored preferences such as favorites, playback settings, and other app settings from that device.

Because Guru Chants does not require an account and does not maintain a server-side user profile database, there is generally no account data for us to delete from our servers. You can reset local app analytics state from your device by clearing app storage or uninstalling the app. For advertising-related data, you can reset or delete your device advertising ID using Android privacy settings where available and manage consent choices through the in-app Privacy Settings option where available.

If you have contacted us by email and want us to delete your support correspondence, email appsagestudio@gmail.com with the subject line "Data deletion request". We will review and respond to deletion requests within a reasonable time, unless retention is required for legal, security, or legitimate business reasons.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page.
